CanadaHelps blows through GivingTuesday record
(December 4, 2020) CanadaHelps, Canada's largest giving portal, reported it received a whopping $11 million in donations on Giving Tuesday, December 1st. The amount is a 123% increase over the 2019 record of $5 million. More than Over 47,000 donors made more than 77,000 gift to 9,366 charities. That would make the average gift in the range of $142. As online donations increase, there’s a lot riding on this year’s GivingTuesday
On GivingTuesday in 2019, Canadians donated $5 million to charities using CanadaHelps. The $5 million was the result of donations from 23,000 people, an average gift of $217.39. Approximately 6,400 charities received gifts in 2019, an average of $781.25 per charity.
